Early Childhood Supports and Services program launched July 1, 2025

Magellan of Louisiana has worked closely with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) to implement the Early Childhood Supports and Services (ECSS) program, which provides vital support for young children and their families and ensures access to essential services for healthy development.

ECSS is a statewide program with clinics in each of the 10 LDH human service district regions. Each ECSS site includes infant and early childhood mental health treatment and resource navigation for the families of children aged birth through five. Pregnant people can get easy-to-understand information about their baby’s development, bonding, stress management, and building responsive relationships.

The program also includes developing collaborative community partnerships and coordinating with local networks of governmental and non-governmental organizations to address social determinants of health.
