Building stronger systems together
Highlights from Magellan’s third Collaborative Connections Conference
In June, Magellan of Wyoming’s High Fidelity Wraparound providers came together for the third annual Collaborative Connections Conference. This event was a multiple-day event designed to equip providers and community partners with tools, strategies, and renewed energy as they work with children, youth, and families in Wyoming.
This year’s conference reaffirmed that Wraparound is strongest when done together: with families, providers, and systems at the center.
Dr. John Lyons, developer of the Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) tool, delivered a featured keynote on using CANS not just for documentation, but as a collaborative decision-making and engagement tool. His session gave providers meaningful insight into aligning assessment with action and using data to track outcomes and drive individualized care.
From there, attendees engaged in hands-on workshops and sessions covering practical topics such as Medicaid billing, CANS fidelity, action planning, and cybersecurity. At the same time, deep dives and breakout sessions explored broader themes such as family voice, motivational interviewing, and building resilience.
Each part of this conference was designed to support providers and create a well-connected workforce. Department of Family Services and Acentra provided insight and guidance on collaboration and billing, and community partners were present with informational booths.
The conference was an opportunity to strengthen collaboration, sustain workforce development, and move forward the work of Wraparound in Wyoming. As we continue to strengthen and support providers in Wyoming, this conference is an important part of our work: building systems to support children, youth, and families in Wyoming.
