Agency expands on its HFWA mission, promotes literacy
Wraparound Solutions in Wyoming, led by Diva Bermudez, is a beacon of support for families facing various challenges. Founded in 2019, the Wraparound agency goes beyond traditional High Fidelity Wraparound services, aiming to empower families to envision and achieve better lives. Reflecting on her journey, Bermudez recalls, "I began working with people who have disabilities in 2004. I enjoyed the rewards that come from helping others to meet their goals and have a better quality of life."
Bermudez's transition to Wraparound in 2017 was pivotal. She notes, "I quickly realized that not only could I support families in meeting their goals, but I could also support them in creating their vision for a better life." This realization led to the establishment of Wraparound Solutions in 2019, a testament to Bermudez's dedication to fostering positive change within her community.
Amidst her professional endeavors, Bermudez cherishes her role as a mother, sharing a close bond with her 14-year-old daughter. Together, they find joy in celebrating their favorite holiday, the Fourth of July, with barbecues and fireworks. In quieter moments, Bermudez indulges her love for reading and audiobooks, finding solace and inspiration within the pages.
Recently, Wraparound Solutions received a remarkable opportunity to further enrich their community through literacy initiatives. Collaborating with Little Free Library, Scholastic, and renowned author Dav Pilkey, Wraparound Solutions became the sole recipient of the 'Dog Man' Little Free Library in Wyoming. Bermudez expresses her excitement, stating, "Wraparound Solutions in Evanston is the only children's agency in Wyoming to receive the 'Dog Man' Little Free Library book sharing box and 1,000 books."
This initiative aims to expand book access and promote literacy among children, providing 1,000 books to accompany the vibrant 'Dog Man'-themed book-sharing box. The impact of this initiative extends beyond the confines of Wraparound Solutions, encompassing the broader Evanston community. Supported by dedicated volunteers, including the YAHA group home, Wraparound Solutions unveiled the 'Dog Man' Little Free Library on May 31 with the aim of fostering a culture of reading and imagination among children and families alike.
As Bermudez articulates, her greatest aspiration as a service provider is to meet families where they are and guide them toward leveraging their strengths to realize their vision. Through initiatives like the 'Dog Man' Little Free Library, Wraparound Solutions demonstrates their commitment to nurturing brighter futures and empowering communities one book at a time.
