Magellan implements Suicide Risk Assessment protocol

Providers asked to review program expectations

Due to the unfortunate reality of an increase in suicides and suicide attempts over the past several years, Magellan’s clinical team implemented a new Suicide Risk Assessment protocol effective March 1, 2023.

Any member reporting a suicide attempt, an act of harm with intent to end their life, leading to or during an acute inpatient program (AIP) hospitalization will be included within this program.
