Create a standout provider profile — And help members connect with you
As a Magellan network provider, you can create a provider profile that members can view when searching for care. A strong, personable profile can make a real difference in helping members choose you for their needs.
If you haven’t set up your profile yet — or it’s been a while since you updated it — here are a few quick tips to make yours shine:
Write like you're speaking to a member seeking care
- Use first person (“I” statements) when describing yourself. Your personal statement appears as a quote attributed to you, so make it feel authentic and conversational.
- Use second person (“you” statements) when referring to members. Speak directly to them so they feel seen and understood.

Make your message member-focused
- Write for your audience — Magellan members. Avoid technical terms like cognitive behavioral therapy or EMDR unless you also explain them in simple language.
- Focus on how you help people overcome challenges and improve their well-being. Help members picture what it’s like to work with you.
- End with a friendly invitation to contact you.
Including a photo on your profile helps members connect with you.
Add a professional photo
- Include a clear, recent headshot (not a selfie) to help members put a face to your name.
- For group or facility profiles, you can use a photo of your building or your practice logo.
- Photo dimensions should not exceed 100 x 125 pixels to avoid dark or distorted images. Recommended size limit: 10KB.
