Coming soon: Your annual Magellan training attestation
As a Magellan provider serving MedStar Family Choice Health Plan (DC Medicaid) enrollees, you must complete required training on several topics annually and attest to Magellan that you have done so.
Required annual training topics include the following:
- Fraud, waste and abuse*
- Cultural diversity*
- Culturally and linguistically appropriate services*
- General compliance
- Complaints and grievance process
- Appeals process
- Claims policies and procedures
*Note: Magellan does not require that providers complete our specific training related to the topics of fraud, waste and abuse or culturally competent care. The training you complete on these topics is left to your discretion. However, if you have not already completed the mandatory trainings, and you’d like to learn more about Magellan’s philosophy and policy on providing culturally competent care, access Magellan’s cultural competency resources as well as those on fraud, waste and abuse, and other trainings online at MagellanProvider.com/MedStar.
Magellan does require that you review our policies about general compliance, complaints and grievances, appeals, and claims in the 2022 Provider Handbook Supplement for MedStar Family Choice Health Plan (PDF).
Some things to know about your attestation:
- In the coming weeks, Magellan will notify you via email that it is time to complete your annual training attestation.
- Note: Group and facility administrators may attest on behalf of group members.
- By completing and submitting the attestation form, you attest that you (and all practitioners in your practice) have completed annual training topics as required for participation in the Magellan network for MedStar Family Choice Health Plan (DC Medicaid).
Thank you for serving DC Medicaid enrollees and complying with the training and attestation requirement.
